Terms of Service
Last updated: [[LAST UPDATED DATE]]
These Terms govern your use of Livqeno’s hosted APIs, dashboard and SDKs. Please read section 5 (Acceptable use) in full: it sets out what you and your end users may not do with live video, voice, chat and streaming.
1.The agreement
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are an agreement between you and [[LEGAL ENTITY NAME]], a [[JURISDICTION]] [[ENTITY TYPE]] with its registered office at [[REGISTERED ADDRESS]] (“Livqeno”, “we”, “us”).
They cover the following (together, the “Services”):
- the hosted Livqeno APIs for real-time audio and video (RTC), chat, live streaming and webhooks;
- the Livqeno dashboard, where you manage accounts, projects, API keys and settings;
- the documentation, and the client SDKs, server SDKs and CLI we publish.
If you accept these Terms on behalf of a company or other organisation, you confirm that you can bind it, and “you” means that organisation. You must be at least [[MINIMUM AGE, e.g. 18]] to create an account.
The Services are for building and running your own applications. They are not a consumer product. If a separate written agreement with Livqeno covers your use, that agreement prevails where it conflicts with these Terms.
2.Beta status
The Services are in beta. Features, limits and APIs may change, and the SDKs are pre-1.0. Only the latest published release of each SDK is supported. We do not currently offer an uptime commitment or service level agreement, and the Services are not yet built for workloads that cannot tolerate an outage (see Security: availability).
3.Your account and credentials
- Give accurate account information and keep it up to date. You must verify your email address.
- You are responsible for everything done under your account and with your projects’ API keys. Keep passwords, API keys and signing secrets confidential. We strongly recommend turning on two-factor authentication.
- An API key is a full credential for one project environment. Keep it on your servers. Never ship it in a browser, mobile app or public repository. Your backend mints short-lived tokens for your users instead.
- Project owners decide who joins their projects and with which role, and are responsible for those members’ actions in the project.
- Tell us at once at security@livqeno.com if you believe an account or key has been compromised. Revoke the key from the dashboard too.
4.Your applications and end users
You build applications on the Services, and the people who use those applications are your end users. You are responsible for your applications and for how your end users use them. In particular, you:
- authenticate your end users yourself, and mint RTC and chat tokens only for users you have authenticated;
- give your end users any notices, and obtain any consents, that the law requires for the audio, video, chat, recordings and other data your application handles, including consent to record or broadcast where the law requires it;
- have the rights you need in the content you or your end users send through the Services;
- moderate your application, and require your end users to follow rules at least as strict as section 5.
The Services give you moderation tools, including chat bans, mutes, flags, blocks and a pre-send moderation hook, and you can revoke tokens to remove a participant. Using them is your responsibility.
5.Acceptable use
You must not use the Services, and must not let your end users use them, to create, transmit, stream, store or share:
- child sexual abuse material, or any content that sexualises minors. We have zero tolerance for this. We remove it, close the accounts involved and report it to [[RELEVANT AUTHORITY, e.g. NCMEC]] where the law requires;
- intimate images or video of a person shared without that person’s consent;
- audio or video of people recorded, broadcast or restreamed without the notice or consent the law requires;
- live or recorded depictions of real violence, self-harm or terrorism intended to glorify, promote or incite it;
- threats, harassment, stalking, or incitement of violence or hatred against people or groups;
- fraud, phishing, scams, impersonation, or deceptive content meant to mislead people for gain;
- content that infringes intellectual property, including rebroadcasting live events, films, sport or music you have no right to distribute;
- malware, or anything designed to damage, intercept or take over devices, systems or data;
- unsolicited bulk messages (spam), including through chat or push notifications;
- offers of illegal goods or services, or any other content that is unlawful where it is sent or received.
You also must not:
- get around rate limits, quotas, admission control or plan limits, or create accounts to avoid them;
- use our TURN relay servers or media infrastructure as a general-purpose proxy or VPN, or for traffic that is not part of your application’s real-time sessions;
- access, probe or try to access another customer’s projects, data or sessions. Good-faith security research that follows our vulnerability disclosure policy is allowed;
- run denial-of-service, load or stress tests against the shared hosted Services without our written permission;
- send protected health information (PHI) through the Services. We cannot sign a Business Associate Agreement today;
- put special-category personal data, or other sensitive data, in participant identities, room or conversation names, or metadata;
- use the Services for emergency calling. They do not connect to emergency services, and are not a replacement for a telephone;
- resell or white-label direct access to the Services as a competing platform [[CONFIRM: whether reselling or white-labelling is permitted]].
Restreaming to third-party platforms, such as YouTube or Twitch, is also subject to those platforms’ terms. Report abuse you find on an application built with Livqeno to [[ABUSE CONTACT EMAIL]].
6.APIs, SDKs and licences
Hosted Services
While these Terms are in force, we give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to access and use the hosted Services, in line with the documentation, to build and run your applications. You need an account and an API key to use them. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
SDKs and CLI
Our client SDKs, server SDKs and CLI are published under the MIT License (Copyright © 2026 Livqeno). Each package includes its licence text. Your use of SDK and CLI source code is governed by that licence, and nothing in these Terms restricts the rights it grants you. The MIT License covers the code only. It gives no access to the hosted Services, which these Terms govern.
Names and marks
These Terms give you no right to use the Livqeno name, logos or other marks, except to say truthfully that your application is built with Livqeno. [[CONFIRM: trademark status and any brand guidelines]]
Feedback
If you send us suggestions or feedback, we may use them without any obligation to you.
7.Fees
Plans, prices, included usage and limits are described on our pricing page. Where the pricing page describes a free plan or free beta usage, no fees apply to that usage.
- We meter usage, such as RTC minutes, per project. Our metering records are the basis for usage-based charges.
- Payment terms, billing provider, invoicing and late-payment terms: [[PAYMENT TERMS — no payment provider is integrated yet]].
- Fees exclude taxes. You pay any taxes that apply, other than taxes on our income.
- We will give you at least [[FEE CHANGE NOTICE PERIOD]] notice before a price increase applies to you.
- Refunds: [[REFUND POLICY]].
8.Your data
You keep all rights in the data, content and media you and your end users send through the Services (“Customer Data”). You give us the rights we need to host, process, transmit and display Customer Data to provide, secure and support the Services, and for no other purpose.
- For personal data in Customer Data, you are the controller and we are your processor. Our Data Processing Addendum governs that processing.
- For your own account data, we are the controller. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle it.
- Chat messages are kept until you delete them or set a retention period. Configure retention to suit your purposes.
- Live-stream output (HLS) is public: anyone with the playback URL can watch it. Do not live-stream anything that must stay private.
- Data you send to destinations you configure (webhook URLs, moderation hooks, restream destinations, Apple and Google push) leaves our control, and those recipients’ terms apply.
- You can export and delete chat data through the API, and export or delete your own account from the dashboard.
9.Suspension and termination
By you
You can stop using the Services at any time. To close your account, schedule each project you own for permanent deletion, then delete the account under Settings → Security in the dashboard.
By us
We may suspend your account, projects or API keys, with or without notice, if:
- you or your end users breach section 5 (Acceptable use);
- your use creates a security risk, or threatens the Services or other customers;
- fees are overdue by more than [[DAYS]] days;
- the law or a valid order from a court or authority requires it.
Suspension takes effect at once: dashboard sessions stop working and the API keys of the projects you own stop authenticating. Where reasonable, we will tell you why and give you a chance to fix the problem first. We may terminate these Terms for convenience on [[TERMINATION NOTICE PERIOD]] notice, or at once for a serious or repeated breach.
What happens to your data
Permanent deletion of a project runs 30 days after it is scheduled, and removes the project’s data, including stored attachment files. After termination, we delete Customer Data within [[30]] days, unless the law requires us to keep it. Backups expire on our database provider’s schedule. Export anything you need before then. [[CONFIRM: whether Livqeno schedules project deletion itself on termination]]
Sections 6 (SDK licence terms), 7 (fees already owed), 12 to 14, 16 and 17 survive termination.
10.Changes to the Services
We improve and change the Services over time. We will give you at least [[DEPRECATION NOTICE PERIOD]] notice, through the dashboard, the changelog or email, before we remove a feature or make a breaking API change you rely on, unless a security issue or the law requires a faster change.
11.Security and vulnerability reports
We protect the Services as described on our Security page. If you find a vulnerability, report it to security@livqeno.com. Research that follows our disclosure policy is authorised and does not breach these Terms.
12.Warranties and disclaimers
Each party confirms that it has the authority to enter into these Terms. We will provide the Services with reasonable skill and care. [[CONFIRM: any further warranty Livqeno will give]]
Livqeno does not hold SOC 2, ISO 27001 or HIPAA attestations. Do not rely on the Services for a regulatory purpose that needs one.
13.Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows:
- Neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, goodwill or data, however caused.
- Each party’s total liability arising out of or relating to these Terms is limited to [[LIABILITY CAP, e.g. fees paid in the 12 months before the claim, or a fixed amount if none]].
- These limits do not apply to [[CARVE-OUTS, e.g. your payment obligations, your indemnity, breach of section 5, fraud, or liability that cannot be limited by law]].
14.Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify Livqeno against third-party claims, and the resulting losses, costs and reasonable legal fees, arising from your applications, your Customer Data, your end users’ use of your applications, or your breach of these Terms or of the law.
[[CONFIRM: whether Livqeno gives a reciprocal indemnity, e.g. for third-party IP claims against the hosted Services]]
15.Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. For a material change, we will give you at least [[NOTICE PERIOD]] notice by email or in the dashboard before it takes effect, and update the date at the top of this page. If you do not agree to the change, stop using the Services before it takes effect. Continuing to use them afterwards means you accept the updated Terms.
16.Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of [[GOVERNING LAW]]. Disputes will be resolved in [[VENUE / COURTS]]. [[CONFIRM: arbitration, class-action waiver, or consumer carve-outs]]
17.General
- These Terms, the DPA and any order form are the whole agreement between us about the Services.
- You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
- Neither party is liable for a delay or failure caused by events outside its reasonable control.
- If a provision is unenforceable, the rest of these Terms still applies.
- Not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it.
- You will comply with export-control and sanctions laws that apply to your use. [[CONFIRM: sanctions and export-control wording]]
- Legal notices to us go to [[LEGAL NOTICES EMAIL AND POSTAL ADDRESS]]. We send notices to the email address on your account.
